GOLF CREW AUSTRALIA PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT

1. Purpose and Authority
Under Rule 1.2b of the Rules of Golf, the Committee has established this Code of Conduct to ensure all players act with integrity, show consideration to others, and take care of the course. This Code is a Local Rule and applies to all amateur competitions played with Golf Crew Australia.

2. Expected Standards of Conduct
All players are required to:

  • Care for the Course: Replace divots, repair pitch marks, and rake bunkers properly.

  • Respect Others: Use appropriate language and refrain from verbal or physical abuse of players, staff, or guests.

  • Spirit of the Game: Play honestly and avoid any behavior that brings the game or Golf Crew Australia into disrepute.

  • Administrative Duties: Return accurate scorecards after completing a round.

3. Enforcement and Penalties
The Committee will strictly enforce penalties for breaches of this Code. While the Committee may use discretion for minor incidents, a single breach of the following will result in immediate Disqualification (DQ) for that competition:

  • Abusive Behaviour: Any use of profane, offensive, or threatening language directed at any person.

  • Intentional Damage: Deliberately damaging the course, greens, or property (e.g., slamming clubs into greens).

  • Dishonesty: Deliberately returning a false scorecard or failing to report a known rule breach by another player.

  • Safety Violations: Deliberately hitting into the group ahead or endangering others through reckless play.

  • Alcohol/Substances: Consuming unauthorised alcohol on the course or possessing illegal substances.

4. Reporting and Appeals
Any observed breach should be reported to the [Competition Office/Pro Shop] immediately following the round. Decisions made by the Committee regarding disqualification under this Code are final for the competition in question.

5. Return of Scorecard

4.1 Definition of ‘Officially Returned’
For the purposes of Rule 3.3b, a scorecard is considered officially returned to the Committee when:

  • Electronic Scoring: The player has hit "Submit" on the digital platform and 15 minutes has elapsed, or the player has left the clubhouse precinct.

4.2 Committee Authority over Submission
The Committee reserves the absolute right to deem a scorecard as "returned" at any time once the round is completed.

  • If a player is reported to have signed an incorrect scorecard or failed to follow the certification process, the Committee may deem the card "returned" even if the player has not yet physically submitted it.

  • Enforcement: Once the Committee deems a card "returned" under this authority, any discovered breach (such as a missing signature or an incorrect lower score) will result in immediate Disqualification under this Code of Conduct, and the player will be denied the opportunity to correct the card.
